Much of <strong>M.C. Escher\u2019s\u00a0<\/strong>work is mathematical art, only he didn\u2019t have the benefit of a computer. Most of the images in this gallery have been created from fractals generated using a number of programs:<\/p>\n<p>UltraFractal 5, 6<br \/>\nSterling v1.7<br \/>\nSterling v2<br \/>\nXaos<br \/>\nFyre<br \/>\nTierazon<br \/>\nCorel PaintShopPro X4, X5 and X6<br \/>\nPhotoshop<br \/>\nDxO FilmPack 3 and 4<\/p>\n<p>My objective has always been to make an image which I like to look at and continue to get pleasure from. Abstract and colorful. Not to look like a fractal. Pleasing to the eye. Fractals and photos includes a bit of whimsy in the images. Maybe even tell a story.<\/p>\n<p>I don\u2019t read textbooks. I am not a member of a photography club or an art studio. I do what comes naturally and gut feeling tells me if I have done well. I like to look at the work of other artists, especially Old Masters, and photographers and learn from them \u2013 visually.<\/p>\n<p>I judge my creations, whether photograph or digital or hybrid under the following criteria:<\/p>\n<p>Emotional impact<br \/>\nVisual impact<br \/>\nSubject<br \/>\nComposition<br \/>\nTechnical quality<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s no big deal. If it works it will feel good and can easily be classified accordingly. There are always plenty of failures! Don\u2019t tell me to look at a textbook just because you see it differently \u2013 perhaps I have hung the picture upside down.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Digital art is art by mathematics using the computer as the medium.
